Lol, I had never heard of it. But being the baker had to look it up. It's basically like sweet potatoe pie but with white potatoes. Does not appeal to me. Now if you add onions and cheese instead of the sweetener, than it sounds delicious.

Now if you add onions and cheese instead of the sweetener, than it sounds delicious. True, most of the online recipes I viewed had pretty much the same ingredients as sweet potato. I am adventure some to a certain extent, and might make on e down he road. I was watching a YouTube vlogger who has a vintage cooking channel make a chocolate cake with mashed potatoes. That sounds interesting as well.. She stated it was popular in the 20's.

That sounds interesting as well.. She stated it was popular in the 20's. Yes, I have 2 recipes in my grandmum's book that used potatoes, and one in my other grandmum's book that uses beans. They both pretty much do the same and were used for the same reasons. Potatoes and beans during hardship, plus they added the fudginess to cakes. Kindof like when many used mayonnaise(think eggs and vinegar, with vinegar activating the acid in the cocoa).
