A pretty generic movie on paper elevated by great direction, performances, and Maurice Jarre’s score.
I miss the days when talented directors and actors took on smaller, simpler screenplays and brought the material up to their level.
8/10 for me. Thoughts on Witness?

It's a good movie. It actually dropped a bit for me last time I watched it though. Still a 7/10. Good story, very good directing, good score and standout performances. The romance falls a bit flat for me and that is a problem.

It’s a favorite of mine. I’ve watched it at least a dozen times over the years. I never get tired of it. 8/10

I don't think Kelly McGillis is a good actress, so that didn't help. |

8/10 for me as well. Absorbing story that's a fascinating depiction of cultural clashes.
