Robert Downey Jr. to Earn $100 Million for Playing Dr. Doom: Reportwww.yahoo.com/entertainment/robert-downey-jr-earn-100-132110483.html"The post Robert Downey Jr. to Earn $100 Million for Playing Dr. Doom: Report appeared first on Consequence. At Cinema-Con, Marvel dropped the bombshell news that Robert Downey Jr. would be playing Dr. Doom in the upcoming Avengers movies. While Downey previously expressed an interest in returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe following the demise of his beloved character Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame, new reports indicate that his comeback is nonetheless costing Marvel a pretty penny. Matt Belloni of Puck News reports that Downey is set to receive more than $100 million in salary and bonuses for playing Dr. Doom in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Additionally, Variety reports that the actor’s deal includes perks such as private jet travel, dedicated security, and a whole “trailer encampment.”All that’s in addition to the $500 – $600 million dollars Downey has already earned from Marvel for playing Iron Man in the previous four Avengers movies, three Iron Man films, and cameos in The Incredible Hulk, Captain America: Civil War, and Spider-Man: Homecoming.Variety also reports that Downey would only return to the MCU if the Russo Brothers directed the films he’d be starring in — which Marvel agreed to. But that’s also a pricey line item, as the Russo Brothers will reportedly be paid $80 million to direct both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Avengers: Doomsday is set for release on May 1st, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars following on May 7th, 2027."

Just think of how many films Roger Corman could have made with that amount of money.

It’s an obscene amount of money but it makes sense. They feel they need to have Downey back to generate hype and interest for these next Avengers movies so Downey has the power to demand what he wants

Just think of how many films Roger Corman could have made with that amount of money. I remember he said the budget of Star Wars was obscene. $8 million?

Tom Cruise got $100 million from "Top Gun: Maverick". He took a reduced salary and earned a lot of profit from a backend deal. screenrant.com/how-much-tom-cruise-paid-for-top-gun-maverick/"Tom Cruise struck gold with the box office success of Top Gun: Maverick, which earned him over $100 million. Cruise had originally agreed to take a "modest" salary of $12.5 million upfront in order to negotiate a deal that would secure him a steady income on backend ticket sales. According to Forbes, "Cruise gets over 10% of the first dollar gross, which is based on the money Maverick distributor Paramount takes in after theaters get their cut, typically around 50%". This metric combined with his salary accumulated over $100 million from the 2022 blockbuster hit alone.

People will say
"I got to see why they spent $100 million on him!"

Writer/director Christopher Nolan made about $100 million off of "Oppenheimer". The movie itself cost $100 million. www.yahoo.com/entertainment/christopher-nolan-final-oppenheimer-payday-135744228.html"Nolan’s final payday for the film, which traces the life of titular scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer and his role in creating the atomic bomb, is just south of $100 million, according to knowledgeable sources. That figure represents a combination of salary, backend compensation, box-office escalators and a bonus for his twin Academy Awards."

What, the movie, the piece of news, the artist, the dough ? RDJ as Dr Doom. I'm sure most people would quite like a $100m. Well, ... the current state budget here is around so much that 100 m $ looks, er, well, not that much money. (2000 billions for the expenses only). It only looks obscene compared to the minimum salary wage. That is to say something which is not all that decent to begin with, even given the fact that some get even less... And in order to compare the two things, you have to level blue collar jobs with white collar jobs and acting, and it’s really a wild comparison to make... As it comes to playing Doom, it’s a surprise to get the news that the character has not yet been used in a motion picture. Reminds me the episode of Iron man where he and Doom end up in the past and have to deal with King Arthur’s sister.

Spider-Man 4 will be multiverse. Oasis reunites. RDJ getting paid. We're in the simulation. ”In mathematics, a singularity is generally a point, a value, or a case in which a certain mathematical object is not well-defined or undergoes a transition. This term can therefore have very different meanings depending on the context. For example, in elementary analysis, it is said that the function x ↦ 1/x, defined on a punctured neighborhood of the origin, has a singularity at x = 0 [desired reference]. In singularity theory, the term takes on a different meaning. For instance, it is said that the function x ↦ x2 has a singularity at x = 0, simply meaning that its derivative vanishes.” Simulation=transition ?

I'm in the wrong profession.
I read that in the 1970s, Fred "Rerun" Barry was getting paid $25,000 per episode of What's Happening. Offhand I don't know what that is in 70s dollars, but hell I'd take an acting gig that pays that in today's dollars easily.
