If someone gave me this as a birthday gift, I’d be a little pissed. The movie itself is pretty intriguing with a solid performance from Michael Douglas. Not sure how much scrutiny the plot holds up to as it depends on a lot of stuff going right - That leap off the building could have easily been a fatality. Directed by David Fincher yet feels like something like Hitchcock would have made with Cary Grant.

Good movie. I haven’t watched it in years.

I saw it for a college film course, I already knew ABOUT it from Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments, finding the clown doll in the driveway just like when his dad killed himself.
Saw a movie, Trick or Treat, that tried to copy it, a few years ago, like a UK ripoff, really paled in comparison even by UK standards.

I love it. Perhaps the ending was a bit far-fetched, but the movie is such a fun, wild ride that by the time I got to the end, it didn’t bother me that much.

I have mixed feelings on the ending, but for the most part I think it's a terrific thriller. Very intense and engaging, Michael Douglas is really good, and Howard Shore's score is very good too.

May have been better to leave it ambiguous somehow ala Total Recall. The preposterousness of the ending bothered me even as a kid. Interesting habit that Fincher likes to follow up his masterpieces with somewhat rote thrillers. But it's well made and the acting is good from Penn and Gay Actor Michael Douglas.

Loved it when I first saw it but didnt hold up as well the upon a re-watch. Still I give it a 6/10.
The part where Michael Douglas comes home to a destroyed house really freaked me out.
