This was one of the most pleasant surprises from 2023 especially after how the original franchise flamed out with the dull final two movies. Chronicles the rise of Coriolanus Snow who was played by Donald Sutherland in the original movies and also shows how the Hunger Games developed. It was pretty gripping from beginning to end and Tom Blyth, who I have never seen in anything before, was very good as the young Snow. Almost, must point out how this movie cost 100 million and looks far superior visually than many movies last year that cost twice that amount or more. Easily the best after the first two. Looking forward to the next one which is apparently a prequel about Woody Harrelson's character.

A family friend of mine loved it and always asks me if I’ve watched it yet. I still haven’t, but it’s on my watchlist.
I somewhat soured on the movies after the decline from the awesome Catching Fire to Mockingjay 1 & 2.

I wanted to like it but this just did not work for me. I found the pacing and structure of the movie to be a mess, and couldn't understand the main character. I did like him though and wasn't familiar with the actor either. I agree it's a very good looking film though, some nice cinematography, costumes and sets.
