Any of you seen this Ridley Scott movie starring Michael Douglas and Andy Garcia? I saw it once about five years ago. Not one of Scott's best as a director, but not one of his worst either. It's decent enough. Leonard Maltin Movie Guide Review: Black Rain (1989) - 2.5 out of 4 stars"Tough, violent, foulmouthed action yarn about street-worn N.Y.C. cop and his partner who are supposed to deliver a Japanese mobster to cops in Osaka--then wind up pursuing him on his own turf. Too long, too predictable at times, but slick and entertaining. Super 35."

yes I remember liking it. Liked the relationship between Michael Douglas and Ken Takakura, the cinematography which gave the city of Osaka this Blade Runner feel, and Hans Zimmer's score, which was clearly a heavy influence on his later Batman scores. You can see the similarity especially at 2:18 here.
would love a 4K remastered version of this film.

I liked it. In fact it's due for a rewatch. Michael Douglas was a great tough cop.

Good movie, though I don’t love it.
The visuals are fantastic.

The cinematography and score are good, but a lot of the rest of it falls flat for me. I don't much care for the story or the characters.
