Van Helsing?
Seems like they miss out on a big event mashup movie if they had him fighting Freddy, Jason, Chucky, Alien, Predator...
the modern answer to Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.

There's not a lot of competition for "horror hero." Van Helsing? Seems like they miss out on a big event mashup movie if they had him fighting Freddy, Jason, Chucky, Alien, Predator... the modern answer to Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. They came pretty close to having him fight Freddy and Jason, but the project fell through because apparently Bruce Campbell wouldn't do it unless they let Ash win and the studio wouldn't go for it? Which seems absurd to me. Ash is the hero, of course he should win. If Corey Feldman can beat Jason, so can Bruce Campbell. |

Possibly. Horror movies are often defined by their villains like Chucky or Pinhead but Evil Dead really doesn’t have much in the way of that; the most we usually get is Evil Ash or a deadly Deadite.

Would it have ended with Freddy and Jason playing volleyball with his severed head or something?
I prefer the theatrical ending of Army of Darkness (was shocked when I watched it in HD and they didn't show the S-Mart).
