I've been meaning to watch it for years and finally started it last night (I'm watching the rest now) because of your thread. When I started it I was looking at it on imdb and happened to go to Maggie Smith's page to see how old she was now... |

R.I.P. I saw her on stage in London back in 2000 as the lead in the play The Lady in the Van. I just learned from reading Wikipedia that she reprised her role in a 2015 movie. As other have written, she had a long and successful career. One her early performances I found memorable is in Clash of the Titans (1981) |

That is sad to hear. She was a legend.
The first movie I ever saw her in was Hook and she made an impression on me as a child as Old Wendy.

She had me roaring during The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2011). No one could deliver a line quite like her. She was a personal favorite and I made a point to search out her movies and other roles. We lost a true titan. 😒  |
