I remember when I was a kid going to my local whites only theater seeing original non-IP projects like Wizard of Oz (1939), Magnificent Seven, and the Hammer horror movies. Hollywood didn't make movies for money, they made them for the communists until they got blacklisted. Actors weren't cast for diversity, because only white people could play Egyptians. Now everything is different. Here is one of my favorite critics discussing where cinema went wrong:

Now no one goes to the theater. Avatar: The Way of Water made less money than Avatar, and everything is a Marvel project because that's all I or the content creators I watch on YouTube talk about while I hypocritically contribute to the death of cinema by not seeing the many original movies being nade. Usually because they're made by dirty foreigners or chicks.
