Any fans of this Tim Burton movie starring Johnny Depp and Martin Landau? I haven't seen it, but it seems to be an acclaimed Burton movie with good performances from the whole cast with Depp and Landau standing out. The movie seems to be a lesson in doing what you enjoy regardless if you're the best, or in this case, the worst at it, as well as a celebration of creative passion and friendship (Wood and Lugosi in this case). Leonard Maltin Movie Guide Review: Ed Wood (1994) - 3 out of 4 stars "A loving look at Edward D. Wood, Jr.., a man of boundless enthusiasm and no talent who made some of the worst movies of all time (including GLEN OR GLENDA) and PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE). Cast to perfection, with Depp ideal in the title role. Landau--in Rick Baker makeup (both men won Oscars)--is positively astonishing as the aged and impoverished Bela Lugosi, whom Wood befriended. There isn't much story thrust here, but the vivid re-creation of time and place makes this a must for any old-movie buff."

Brilliant movie...wether one is an Ed Wood 'fan' or not. Indeed one of my Fave Tim Burton movies. Sarah J.P. and Martin Landau are stand-out. Ya gotta see it, ck.

I'm no fan of Ed Wood, but this was a great film about filmmaking although it's not one about a great director (which I find humor in it). Still, I liked the message about pursuing your passions. I consider it another favorite from 1994. Martin Landau was rather good as Bela Lugosi. I also liked the portrayal of Orson Welles by Vincent D'Onofrio (albeit voiced by Maurice LaMarche).

My favorite Burton movie, it's simply a joy to watch. A loving (but honest) tribute to someone who had all the passion but none of the talent required to be a great (or even just adequate) filmmaker.

It is an oddly inspirational movie, telling the tale of a complete hack but one who has an infectious passion for making movies. If only the shitty no budget directors I've met were half as endearing as Depp's Wood.
A shame SLJ had to go up against Landau at the Oscars. Two amazing performances. SLJ has one of the best losing reactions.
