Hello.
What's the difference between the festive season and a football season... a festive season comes to an end. Too much football, pal, and that's something I never thought I'd hear myself saying. It's like that movie where he wakes up everyday and it's always the same. You wake up to check the football news and the first thing you see is fixture lists, lots of them, for competitions all over the place. And here we go again...
For some reason Everton has become my random team to keep an eye on so far this season, probably because it'll be interesting to see their season unfold in the ominous shadow of a brand new billion-pound stadium awaiting them next year and what their league status will be. Well, they've won their first game of the campaign after six attempts and now find themselves just three points behind Manchester United (if that's any encouragement) Maybe 'three points behind Brentford' sounds more impressive. Man City now find themselves second favourites (2/1) for the title to Arsenal (5/4) even though it's Liverpool (4/1) who lead the table. And you can still get 12/1 on Man City being relegated this term and it's a price that should be snapped up before the news leaks that their team of lawyers are actually failing to worm the club out of the hundred and whatever charges against them.
There is a break in the EPL after this round because there's another 53 Nations League games with the pick of the bunch being Moldova v Andorra, Estonia v Azerbaijan and Faroe Islands v Armenia...
