Hello all,
Last weekend Newcastle began the assault on the top 3 trio by seeing off on-the-blink Arsenal, Bournemouth took up the baton by humbling Fraudiola's City and Brighton, one up against Liverpool inside the quarter-hour, threatened to complete the treble only to go down 2-1.
Forest continued its eye-watering surge and now sits in third place - remarkable in itself but well-deserved with just a single defeat with over a quarter of the season gone. And Southampton got its first win of the season for the tenth time of trying. Wolves and Ipswich fans are the only ones yet to go home with that winning feeling.
This weekend's fixtures - the last for a fortnight due to yet another international get-together - includes Ruud Van Nistelrooy's United's visit to Leicester ahead of Amorim's appointment on the 11th (still subject to a work visa being issued- oh that there was someone important in the Home Office UKVI Department right now who was a vindictive City fanatic)
MrFurious' Top Tip this week must surely be over 99 booking points in the Chelsea-Arsenal set-to on Sunday. Although the home side is not exactly flush with traditional terriers of yore - Terry, Costa, Drogba, Wise etc - they are currently yellow card league leaders with 38 showings while Arsenal top the red card table with 3 showings. A couple of Reds and a handful of Yellows would see the bet come sailing in, so let's hope for a bloodthirsty battleground with tackles and elbows flying in from everywhere including from the ref.
Good luck, all.
*Ajjune failed to enter his winning Chelsea v Newcastle pick correctly last time so it didn't register although it was in time: he gets a point this round as it was brought to my attention late.
