i thnk they will win the division. they would have to play under 500 for the yankees to win if the yankees played at 500. this an exciting new addition to the rivalry, but the red sox and primed to win, the yankees are in the middle of what looks to be a good rebuild

The Red Sox have too many underachieving players this year. No more Ortiz with his clutch hitting and clubhouse leadership.
This might be the Yankees year to win the division.

And too much John Farrell. Even with the substandard pitching, there's no damn way a team with this much offense should be 32-26 and shut out by Carsten Charles. He should be floating over Pink Floyd concerts by now.

John Farrell is a terrible manager. He makes excuses constantly for the underachievers and doesn't manage the younger players well. They won the WS in 2013 in spite of him.

Never should have fired Tito. Beer and Fried Chicken? Who gives a shit? There's nothing more useless than a starting pitcher who isn't starting. Torey Lovullo did a great job filling in for Bluto Farrell when he was sick. Sox should have given him the big chair then. He's doing a nice job in Arizona.

For those about to pitch, we salute you. He pitched the best start the Dead Sox have had all year, CG shutout against the M's. he's a classic AAAA player, too good for the minors, not enough for the show. No earth shattering stuff.

Sox are not winning the division. Unless Sale can pitch every day.

He had the respect of the guys and the only reason Farrell wasn't fired is because he was sick. The organization didn't want to fire someone recovering from cancer. Bad PR move. Then it came out that he was having an affair with someone in the Boston media and his wife filed for divorce. Not a good manager and not a good married man. Last night the overpaid and volatile David Price got rung up by the Yankees. He swears at the Boston press corps and doesn't take any accountability for his bad outings. Farrell will make excuses as usual. One of the many bad free agent signings by the Red Sox.

what's up with david price? why's he so pissy at the local boston media? I think it's the pressure. Some guys have trouble adjusting to the media of a club like Boston or the Yanks. Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford , even Dice-K.

Price is originally from a small market club in Tampa. Travis Shaw has said that it is laid back in Milwaukee compared to Boston. But to their credit the Red Sox schooled every ballplayer in their system about handling the media.
Price also hasn't warranted that huge contract he took. He wanted the big bucks but is too thin skinned to handle the Boston media when they question him about any bad outing or being on the DL.
