While everyone is currently going crazy for WW, I figured it was worth acknowledging that there's still a Justice League movie coming out later this year. With that in mind, here's an interesting article about the reported reshoots by Joss Whedon: www.outerplaces.com/science-fiction/item/16167-justice-league-reportedly-undergoing-massive-reshoots-joss-whedon. It's interesting to note that the article also briefly mentions that Whedon was brought in before Snyder officially decided to step down from the movie. Considering that Whedon was announced as the director of the Batgirl movie around the end of March (if I recall correctly), that suggests to me that he probably agreed to handle the reshoot for JL, in exchange for being allowed to make the Batgirl movie.

Interesting. This makes me feel a little better about the movie. I hate saying it but I'm glad Zack Snyder had to step away...hate the reason he did for sure. Still after BvS I was losing faith in JL.

My best guess is that they will mainly change superman's resurrection which should probably tied into 3rd act material, and probably toss in more WW.
But I am hoping if this is vastly different when it hits the Blu-ray we see the two versions......... but that's extremely unlikely

Regardless, the best we can hope for is a merely recent movie, at best. It has thus far been proven that the best DCEU films are the ones Snyder didn't direct. I'll rewatch Suicide Squad a million times before touching the mindless dreck that was MoS and BvS. Horrid films.

It won't be a whole new movie.
Before he ever found major success, Whedon made a living by tweaking scripts and stories while not putting everything in his voice. The first X-Men and Toy Story are just two examples.
He will be able to take the best parts of what Snyder filmed and augment it to fix tone, story and character. It won't be wholly revamped, despite the news of heavy reshoots.
I assume a lot will be around Superman since Snyder has never truly grasped that character.
But I still think Superman will be brainwashed or something when he is revived, so there will be a Supes vs. everyone else fight. Whedon will just make it work better.

I guess now is as good a time as any for me to say this; I still have reservations about Joss Whedon being involved with the DCEU. It's not that I dislike the guy's writing (although I wasn't too crazy about Age of Ultron, though a lot of that blame probably falls on Marvel Studios), but it just seems weird having a guy who was previously a major player for the MCU, serving as the successor for Zack Snyder. I know that rivalries between movie franchises aren't quite the same as rivalries between sports teams, but I always kind of preferred the idea of different actors, writers, and directors belonging different superhero franchises.
Anyway, I guess we'll just have to wait and see how this goes. At the very least, I think I am more interested in a Whedon directed Batgirl movie now, than I was when it was first announced. I guess I probably have Wonder Woman to thank for that.

I don't think that I can explain it, but I just really liked BvS. If it just kept everything except the final battle with Doomsday and added 10 extra minutes of actual Batman versus Superman throw-down footage, then I think it would have been universally accepted, if not acclaimed.
Those are some big changes of course, but I'm excited for JL. The movie will be divisive, but I expect to like it. The reshoots cannot change much, only add humor I would think. We all know how that ended with Suicide Squad...so hopefully they don't force it down our throat.

The general public would be fine with Superman and Batman disagreeing, but actually being enemies for a whole movie? That's a small audience. If you talk to just about anyone, the biggest criticism was that Batman wanted to kill Superman. Just about every criticism outside of Lex's plan can be boiled down to the desire to call it "Batman v. Superman" - Batman is too violent? He has to be in order to motivate wanting to kill Superman. - Superman is too angsty and distant? He has to be in order for Batman to want to kill him. etc. etc.

The people who don't follow comics or the comic book movies closely were always asking, "Why would they be fighting? It doesn't make sense." It kind of turns out that critics agreed with that sentiment.
