Okay so, someone on my friends list today made a post about it being voting day. I try to make a joke with a pic from The Simpsons with Homer saying "Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos." Now, she messages me saying she doesn't understand and asks me to remove it. So, that leads to my question. I genuinely do not understand people adding you yet will never communicate you in any way.
What gives?

How are people "friends" with a person they never actually met? Why are you "friends" with a person who doesn't watch The Simpsons?

To try and make themselves look popular. It is like how some people go around following hundreds of people on Twitter so they follow them back but have never talked to any of them.

To try and make themselves look popular. It is like how some people go around following hundreds of people on Twitter so they follow them back but have never talked to any of them. Pretty much this. I know this one guy who has thousands of "friends" on his Facebook, but he barely comments or likes anything they post on his profile. He releases some real sad attempts at singing and people go apeshit in droves, but he has never ever thanked any of them, not even one "Thanks for your support guys!" |

facebook will be the downfall of many people if they don't watch it. I work with a woman who is 'constantly sick/out on medical leave for this/that/theother' and then has the NERVE to not only go on vacations [she owes me $$ like you wouldn't believe] BUT POSTS PICTURES OF THEM ON FREAKING FACEBOOK!!!! like how retarded are you???

I could ask how some people on this board have posted almost 2,000 times since February! I can only assume they're glued to this site, or their responses and postings are reduced to simple phrases and maybe even one word, like "okay." I mean, come on. 2,000 posts? And there are quite a few people like that on this board!

I guess I'm old school but I don't get the obsession with social media. Silly me. I have two friends who refuse to interact unless it's on FB. No phone calls or emails. They might occasionally answer a text but even that's rare. They say it's easier to "talk" to everyone at one time on FB than to call or send an email. It's sad bec at one time not too long ago, I was pretty close to one of them but now I'm just part of the crowd.

Most of my 1,000+ friends are also only from when I played certain games. (No, I never sent out game invites.) I don't play those types of games anymore (which require game friends to progress) but only deleted a few friends afterward.
I probably only have 2 "real life" FB friends.

being a teacher, I just don't get people who are able to interact with non-coworkers during their work day. I am not able to be on facebook or imdb or imdb2 or anywhere else [in truth, physically I AM but legally I am NOT] that is not work related. What cushy jobs all these people have.

good. not that I want her to get in trouble or fired but it's really frustrating when we all have to scrounge around to teach her class [cause she doesn't leave plans] and deal with her out of control kids when she is not sick or taking care of an impacted tooth but at a freaking barbeque. she said it was an impacted tooth and had a note from a dentist[friend] then she posts pictures of her at a freaking barbeque. and then she whines and bitches about only receiving a 'developing' last year instead of effective or highly effective! what is effective about never being here but being at barbeques and cruises?  |
