Actor Adam West, who achieved stardom as TV's Batman in the 1960's, and was also in numerous movies and TV, sometimes as a voice artist, died yesterday of leukemia at age 88. RIP.

Who was your favorite villain on the BATMAN series?
I'd have to say that mine is "Fingers", played by Liberace, who also played Fingers' twin brother Henry. I especially love the final scene, where all the baddies are in prison, but Fingers was allowed to practice (under guard) on a black-and-white striped piano. Very funny scene.

I first saw him in school, we watched the Batman movie on VHS. Not long after, reruns of the TV show started showing o local TV. This was in the early 80's when a comic geek had very few options to see a live action version of their heroes. So thank you, Mr. West, for being the first to bring Batman to life for me.

Thank you for the clarification, tuco. When I first saw that clip, I thought Batman was punching out a dolphin, and that upset me. But upon closer examination, I see that was a (rubber) shark.

MeTV is doing a day long salute to Adam West today June 17.
I watched Batman during the original run when it was shown on consecutive nights. The problem was I had guitar lessons on Thursday nights that conflicted with seeing the conclusion of each show. Tough choices.
The younger folks here may not remember that back in those days there weren't any VCRs or DVRs. If you missed a show, you didn't see it.
