Not much terror to be had. First story was good, second was pathetic. The third was maybe the best - loved the ending, so freaking creepy. 7/10

I can't remember the first two stories, but the last story of Karen Black being terrorised by a Zuni doll was a blast. I think as a whole, I actually enjoy the 90s sequel over it.

There's no doubt about it, the third story is the best. Mention Trilogy of Terror to anyone and automatically the Zuni doll comes to mind. It's the standout. I found the first two segments rather dull.

That frickin doll gave me nightmares as a kid. As my parents. They still joke with me every time it's mentioned.

The first two stories weren't original, but I still liked them. But of course the last one is the best and the one that is considered a cult classic. Dan Curtis was such a brilliant director.

What I liked about the first was the actor playing the student - totally believable creeper. And the twist ending.

One of the most disappointing cult movies ever. I remember being really bored by this overall. Without Karen Black's no one would talk about this. 4/10 at most.

I liked it well enough, but there are much better horror anthologies out there.

I liked it well enough, but there are much better horror anthologies out there. like what? Creepshow 1 and 2 perhaps? Tales From the Darkside (1972) Asylum (1972) From Beyond the Grave (1974) Creepshow 1 and 2 Cat's Eye plus the 80s TV show Tales From the Darkside. There are others, but I can't think of the titles just at the minute.

So this is out on bluray, $20. I'm tempted but I think I have to pass, at least at that price.

Yeah the last segment is the best. The short story is a good read as well.
The 1990 movie Hardware was said to have been ripped off from a 2000 Ad comics story called Shok! but Shok! is in fact a clumsy remake of "Prey" the doll story.
No one seems to notice it!
Another good Curtis-Matheson story is "Bobby" from Dead of Night 1977. The first two are forgettable but that last one...
yikes.

That last one might be the most mental short horror film I've ever seen.
