screenrant.com/justice-league-superman-role-geoff-johns/Geoff Johns – the Chief Creative Officer at DC Comics – retweeted an article listing the five best Superman moments of the DCEU so far. He added to that with the claim that it’s almost time to revise the list, indicating more good stuff is to come.

I still don't want Superman in any of the marketing. Leave that for the theater.

I have to disagree with that list, I mean you have some great scenes (imo) like when Clark calls his mom in the middle of the night, or when he's evacuating people after the bombing. But aside from that, it's nice to see that Geoff is hyping up supes role in JL, granted.....he kind of works for them.

Cool. Hopefully he has more than 43 lines this time. Honestly, he should just stay dead. There's no salvaging this Superman.

And? This is still the equivalent of a baseball player striking out hard before managing to hit the ball once. Until proven otherwise, Wonder Woman is a fluke. I'll believe WB/DC has gotten their act together when I see it.

After the shitfests that were Man of Steele, Batman v Superman, and Suicide Squad, I am within my rights not to cut WB/DC any slack just because they managed to crap out a film that has exactly one unique feature. Apart from having a female lead, Wonder Woman is just a typical superhero origin story. Without that novelty, it would be receiving average reviews.

Prior to WW you were...... let's say "temperamental" but now idk man.

Now it's only getting good reviews because of one unique feature but is otherwise average. Meh. To each his own. No need to burst a blood vessel over it.

I really don't like this argument that WW is only well received because it stars a woman. To me, it's no different from the argument that critics only hated BvS because it was dark. It's oversimplifying things.

I don't hate Man of Steel, and I think the DCEU would have a better chance of faring well if they did Man of Steel 2 with Brainiac or Lex Luthor. I don't agree with every decision made in the film, but I think there's a lot more to pull out and like from MoS than to hate.

Instead, we had to wait four years for a remotely acceptable DC film.

I still hold to that statement, but you have to admit the praise WW is setting is highly exaggerated. It is NOT the best movie in ten years, it is NOT Oscar-worthy, and it is NOT one of the top three superhero films of all time.

I don't find it's praise to be exaggerated. Critics aren't saying that it's one of the best movies ever made, they're simply saying that it was a well made film, thanks to its likeable characters, the strong chemistry between Gadot and Pine, and the generally optimistic themes and ideas.
