Thanks to one of the threads here I have finally learned how to insert a photograph.
I just uploaded a photo to test to make sure I really could insert the photo. It did insert but it was HUGE. I see other posts that state that a photo is not the original size and to click the photo to see the original size.
How do I decrease the size of a photo?

For whatever reason, automatic resizing does not work in PM's.

For whatever reason, automatic resizing does not work in PM's. I am not talking about PM's. I mean just plain posts in a thread.
Some posts with photos inserted plainly state that the photo is not the original size and to see the original size click the photo which opens another window with the photo full size.
Every photo on this page is not the original size and it says so. imdb2.freeforums.net/thread/2380/name-movie-screenshot-edition?page=9

I see where I went wrong. When I said I uploaded an image and it was huge the post had not been created yet. The image I just uploaded was also huge but I went ahead and created the post and it posted it in a reduced size. I was thinking that the size would stay huge after I created the post so I canceled the test post. I should have gone ahead and created the post but I didn't.
Thank you for helping me figure out what was going on.

I just tried to insert a photo with a quoted post and it did not work. It inserted the photo in a huge size before I created the post but once the post was created there was no photo as you can see in the post directly above this one.
So is it impossible to insert a photo in a quoted post or did I do something wrong?

gunshotwoundDid you make sure that you were posting the image outside the quote box ? It's a bit easier to see location if you use the BBC mode. (Hopefully, this will help.)

gunshotwound Did you make sure that you were posting the image outside the quote box ? It's a bit easier to see location if you use the BBC mode. (Hopefully, this will help.) Hi Bat
I thought I was inserting the image outside the quote box, but when the photo appeared it was ABOVE the quote box and when I created the post the photo was not there.
Possibly my error was that I did not set the prompt outside the quote box as though I were starting a sentence. I am going to use your post as a test and see if that was my problem.

Ok, the test post confirmed that the problem was I did not set the prompt below the quote as though I were starting a sentence. I think all my problems have been solved.
Thank you Admins. & Bat Outtaheck for helping me.

gunshotwoundI just added the same image into the quote tags above, and it automatically resized as it should, so I'm not convinced that's the problem you were having. I'm glad you got it worked out nonetheless.
