People did ask for Mission: Impossible 6. Because Rogue Nation was well recieved and made money.

Movies that no one asked for. I don't know why you're surprised that they're making an MI6. After all, they've already made 5 of them and they've all been fairly successful.
Bad Boys 4 is a mystery since they haven't made a Bad Boys 3.
As for your argument that no one asked for them, that's a point of view. On the one hand, yes, no one actually asked. But on the other hand we kind of did ask when we went to the first one, and the second one, and the third one in so many numbers. It kinda sends a signal. They get the signal we're NOT interested when we DONT show up.

I always thought of the M:I franchise to just be good fun. It usually has a new team and director each time (although Cruise always stays and McQuarrie is hanging around after M:I Rogue Nation), which keeps it mostly fresh.
I don't know, it's not like Star Wars where a sequel must earn the merit of the name. They're just for fun and that's fine with me.

Mission impossible 4 and 5 are two of his three highest rated movies.

Imagine if this approach was taken with the G.I. Joe movies. That is how they should've been handled IMO.

Now that you mention it, a fun action romp that echoed Mission Impossible could be pretty good with the GI Joe characters.

They have officially run out of ideas. I would rather see more movies based on comic books and movies 'cause at least they are original. I am not sure how much longer Hollywood can keep milking a TV show that started back in the 60s.

Now that you mention it, a fun action romp that echoed Mission Impossible could be pretty good with the GI Joe characters. It was the first thing I thought of when I saw the Ghost Protocol. obviously would have a little bit of a different tone, because G.I. Joe is a little lighter, has more science fiction and fantasy, etc., but as far as the action sequences, effects, acting, it really was the first thing that came to my mind while watching it. I do have to say though that the second one is a bit of a guilty pleasure.
