Gadot received so much hate when she was first cast as Wonder Woman. Now that the movie is successful, does she still deserve that hate? Do you still think she was miscast?

she's gotten better but she's really not much of an actress.
she looks awesome in the costume.

I said from the beginning that she was not the best choice to play WW and I stand by that opinion (yes, it's an opinion). However, I give her credit for working very hard to play the role as well as she could and to market the film. It's not her fault that there are people that would have been better in the role. She did the very best she could and I admire her work ethic. She is certainly better than no Wonder Woman at all.

No, I think she did a good job. It was Thewlis who was miscast. He's suitable for Loki-style villains, but not for Ares, the God of War. That role should have gone to Eric Bana.

I think she was born to play Wonder Woman the way Christopher Reeve was born to play Superman. Neither of them are/were particularly gifted actors, but they were fantastic in their iconic roles.

I thought she was incredible. She was great in BvS, too.

No. Now, while I do think she has room to improve her craft as an actress, I think what Gal brings is her natural warmth, it's oddly embracing, something that I feel was necessary for Diana to work.
They could have gone with Olga Kurylenko, or Elodie Yung, or even a Jaimie Alexander, all being more seasoned actresses, and some are arguably better, but I don't think (could be wrong) we would have been as taken by Wonder Woman if they had been cast.

Not at all! I never doubted her from the moment she was cast. I do remember seeing the casting round up for Wonder Woman and Olga Kurylenko was listed, and I actually originally would have liked to see her because I was a big fan of her in Quantum of Solace. She's a Ukrainian actress who played a Spanish character in it, so I was really impressed with what she could do. But I'm glad they went with Gal Gadot and I never doubted her either. What I really liked was that she wasn't American because it wouldn't have made any real sense either because Paradise Island is technically in the Mediterranean. She has such a glowing and warm personality and is all heart, and it fits Wonder Woman beautifully!

I had my doubts when they first announced that she was cast as Wonder Woman. But I supported the decision and knew they must see something in her that we didn't. We got to see just a peak at it in BvS...and now that she has her own movie out...well...like someone above said, I think she was born to play this role. She's perfect as Wonder Woman...just perfect.

I liked the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman from the moment they were announced. The only casting I didn't like from the moment it was announced was Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.

I was very impressed with her performance. Realize that there are those who were disappointed with Thewlis' performance, but I think the producers were trying to portray Ares as someone that nobody notices, and hence would be a grounded character. They still gave us the character we are familiar with from the George Perez run, though in the big boss battle.

I must admit, i was one of those people who thought she was a bad choice for Wonder Woman, but she made me eat crow, and I'm glad. She's the perfect Wonder Woman as Robert Downey Jr is the perfect Iron Man and Hugh Jackman is the perfect Wolverine.

No, not at all. When she was cast, I'll admit I was surprised she was picked only because I didn't think she was a big enough star. I mean, her only big role was being the tough chick from the Fast&Furious movies. Her bust size was never an issue for me neither.

Yes I do she's 20 pounds too skinny, still has the accent and not really a good actress. I 'll admit the movie itself is better than a lot of recent superhero movies, but not thanks to Gadot. Chris Pine Carried this movie

Finally we can agree on something! Eisenberg was terrible as Lex. I think it was a miscast really. He would have made a good Riddler though.

I think what Gadot lacks in acting ability she makes up for in charisma. It's not a loud charisma like The Rock, but there's something magnetic about her that gives her extra presence. She also has this weird combination where on one hand she has a natural, almost childlike sincerity/glee and on the other hand has a natural, raw sensuality about her. Makes her both warm and exotic at the same time.
