Encouraging start tonight by deGrom after getting shelled his two previous outings. Bruce looks determined to make it up to Mets fans after last year.

Great energy last night at Citi, fans were into it and we were treated to a brilliant performance from DeGrom. He had the Cubs off balance all night.
Getting Matz and douchebag Lugo back will definitely help settle things a bit. That should help prevent the constant 4 game skids that seem to be plaguing the team this year. Gsellman has looked much better his past few outings so if you can get 3 quality starts per turn out of those 4, you can live with a shaky Harvey until Syndergaard comes back. Hopefully at that point they'll be at least at .500 and they can make a run.
Cespedes is back, yes, but he's still hobbled and I just fear that at some point, he'll have to leg it out and re-injure his already injured hammy, resulting in another 40 game absence. I just don't see the wisdom in rushing a guy back, even a guy as integral to the team as Ces is. For all their troubles this year, they've been scoring runs so it's not like they couldn't have stayed afloat with just a better overall performance from the pitching staff. They were losing games 8-7, not 2-1. Conforto, Bruce, Walker, Flores and Duda have all been producing and even Granderson has been swinging a better bat of late.
