It's on terrestrial TV in the UK (ITV1) but I shan't be making a strict point of watching the entire game, although I may tune in initially to see if we have anything worth watching from the off. Three days after the Qualifiers we're here again in the Stade de France where it will cost more to park your car than the price of some match tickets themselves. The British National Anthem will be played directly after the French one. Oasis' "Don't Look Back in Anger" will be blasted out before kick-off. May will in all likelihood be there. As will the French President. It's a match where the video referee will be used.
Tom Heaton (aged 31, Burnley) and Jack Butland will take turns in goal and Harry Kane will again sport the skipper's armband. For France, Lyon hotshot Alexandre Lacazette (37 pots in 45 outings for Lyon in 16/17) has been recalled by Deschamps to the squad after a two year absence.
It's England's last game until the two WC qualifiers in September against Malta (1st) and Slovakia (4th)
France 17/20 England 7/2 Draw 5/2
Will you be watching, then?

I will have a bet on Kane scoring - he just cannie stop.
What may give this game an edge is the last two games each nation played.
France lost to an insane goal by sweden and Scotlands heroic freekicks damaged both egos. - or both keepers egos at the least..... both will have new ones in I am sure though.
Kane however will still have the swagger as he rescued the point and is again captain.

Just go on holiday already and bring on the tennis.
We can cope for two months without footy.
I'm gonna rock back and forth in a corner.

France : Lloris, Mendy, Umtiti, Varane, Sidibe, Lemar, Pogba, Kante, Dembele, Giroud, Mbappe England : Heaton, Trippier, Bertrand, Jones, Cahill, Stones, Sterling, Dier, Kane, Alli, Oxlade-Chamberlain
"That is a very, extremely, supremely tasty looking French side," gushes journo JJ Bull. "Mbappe is fantastic to watch, Dembele one of the best young players in the world, Mendy and Sidibe are amazing at full-back, the centre-backs are strong, Pogba, Kante... wow. France aren't treating this one like a pointless friendly."
Preamble by Paul Doyle : "Hello and welcome to a last tango in Paris before the players of England and France get off on their holidays. End-of-season friendlies tend not to set the pulses racing but this one has the potential to be interesting, at least. That’s not a guarantee, mind. But look at it this way: in almost exactly one year both of these countries will probably head to Russia with high hopes of winning the World Cup so it’s about time they started getting their acts together, right?
Neither has been in encouraging form lately. France, indeed, are coming off the back of last Friday’s silly defeat in Sweden, which has jeopardised their World Cup qualification plans and raised the stakes of their next qualifier, against Holland at the end of August. They’ve made things difficult for themselves and Didier Deschamps is a manager under fire. He’s been in charge for five years without ever really giving the impression that he has what it takes to get the best out of an exceptional array of attacking players, even if he did take them bumbling to the final of Euro 2016. France have often looked clunky and unbalanced and the manager is expected to use today’s game to look for answers. Whether he can recognise answers when he sees them is another matter.
Gareth Southgate, of course, has been in charge of England for a far shorter time. Using the evidence of the seven matches that he’s overseen since that weird Sam Allardyce interlude, including Saturday’s fare at Hampden Park, you’d struggle to build an ironclad argument that Southgate will deliver more success than Roy Hodgson. But he’s still experimenting with personnel and formations and trying to stretch players’ minds and strengthen their confidence. Sometimes there may be a whiff of hooey about it all but these are early days so let’s cut the man some slack. Besides, he doesn’t seem to care what the critics say, and that’s a step forward right here. Today his process is supposed to continue in Paris, where several players, notably Tom Heaton and (in the second half) Jack Butland, will get a chance to make claims for more regular action.
Overall, then, the simple slogan for today is: Let’s see what these guys can do."

Nice set up for the Kane goal.
We'll probably play brilliantly like we always do when it doesn't matter.

Eight minutes in and Alli floated it into the area and found Sterling who found Bertrand who drilled it across the area where Kane was lurking in the six yard box to slide it past Lloris from three yards for the easiest of finishes.

The lead lasted all of, what, 12 minutes as Giroud's header inside the area is parried by Heaton but only as far as the waiting Umtiti in the six yard box who played it over the line with minimal fuss. One-all.

Lloris tapped it ten yards out to one of his defenders and following a series of half a dozen or so passes upfield, challenged just the once, the ball was picked up by Dembele who fired on goal, again parried by Heaton and again pounced upon following the parry - this time by Sidibe. Two worthy parries by Heaton but unfortunately two resultant goals for France. 2-1 on '42.

Kane strikes from the spot for two-all on '47 after Alli was brought down by Varane. France down to ten as Varane paid for his challenge with a Red from the Video Ref, it seems. Fuckin' absurd, to my eyes.
