I know Loki has been in three films now, and going on four with Thor 3, so I'm just talking about his performance and character in just the first Thor film to make it fair. But overall, Wonder Woman is a better film, but Loki was a better villain. I understand the whole hiding behind the shadows pulling the strings, but it didn't work for me. And part of it was because they had announced that David Thewlis was playing Ares so it ruined the surprise. So it left him completely undeveloped and underwhelming. But also the whole CGI fight in the end was kinda cliche as well.

Ares isn't better than Ronan, much less Loki.

To be honest, I can't remember specifics about Loki in the first Thor movie. He started off as one of the good guys, didn't he? Then they revealed his true parentage and then Thor got exiled and then somehow there was a giant robot thingy that got sent to earth?
Loki will be forever most remembered for Avengers 1.

Loki became a joke the moment that Hulk tossed him around like a rag doll. You're sad. Bias is still getting to you.

This isn't even close. Majority of MCU villains are better than Ares.

Loki became a joke the moment that Hulk tossed him around like a rag doll. Maybe you didn't read my post properly, but I even pointed out that I'm aware Loki has been in more then one movie so I excluded his performance in the sequels and the Avengers and just wanted to compare his character and his portrayal in just the first Thor movie to Ares

Loki became a joke the moment that Hulk tossed him around like a rag doll. So you can't handle it when the villains aren't omnipotent, got it.

Easily Loki. They make the most of his screen time in Thor (2011) and Tom Hiddleston seemed factory built for that type of role.

The real problem with Ares is the actor that plays him,its hard to take him seriously, its like Hackman as Luthor all over again
