The entire cast from Apocalypse is coming back and they are looking at Jessica Chastain for the role of (supposedly) Lilandra. That sounds good.
My only issue as of now is the same as I've been saying a lot with these movies lately... Why are they giving these to first time directors?
Thoughts about that or anything about this movie?

Seems a BIT risky BUT I am kinda sick of Singer hogging all the direction of these X men films. So I'll keep my hopes up that Kinberg delivers. Oh and the addition of Chastain would be great

Hmm, I'd rather see her make her superhero debut in a Marvel or DCEU movie. But I feel the same about Singer. Let someone else take a turn.

I guess it's good that they're going back and (hopefully) doing the Dark Phoenix story properly. I never cared for Sophie Turner in the Jean Grey role, however.

Mega excited. Going on history in the X-franchise, whenever they release a bad/middling film (which Apocalypse was) its usually followed by a brilliant new entry. Lets hope they continue this trend.

I really think they are jumping into the Dark Phoenix story too early. For it to hit emotionally, you have to have time to bond with Jean Grey as a character. We've only had one movie where she had a fairly minor role, and that's just not enough.

i've seen nothing from that studio to give any indication of someone there understanding the story.
has Kinberg ever directed anything, even?

I'm not terribly excited yet and I don't know why. I love Logan, the first two movies the new trilogy, and haven't even seen Apocalypse yet; so it's not like I have a sour taste in my mouth.
