Excellent adult animated Japanese psychological horror thriller mindbender that just turned 20 this year and one of the films that prove animation isn't just for kids.
I saw this when i was 18 back in 2000 on VHS (months before i got my DVD player) and it blew my mind! Great animation from Madhouse who gave us Ninja Scroll, Wicked City, Wolf Children and more and good storytelling with twists, turns and all that.
Influential movie.

Yes, it's a brilliant movie about madness. I never thought I was going to like it, because I'm not really into anime movies.

I of course loved Akira and Ninja Scroll, and I remember how powerful Perfect Blue was when I watched it several years ago, but I only saw the second half and I don't think I fully understood all that was going on until I read about it after. Very interesting movie. I'd like to watch it in it's entirety sometime.
Btw I have to say I love your name and pic.

I know Akira is considered cult classic, but I didn't enjoy it. And I haven't seen Ninja Scroll. I have to admit that I haven't seen many anime movies, but I remember liking Spirited Away years ago.

"Perfect Blue" deserves all the praise. Perfect storytelling and well-defined characters. Paranoia, delusions and a dreamlike air are cooked up with an array of tension and creepy visuals. One of the best animated features, I've ever seen.
