Deadline reports that the film will likely make anywhere from $90 million to $108 million domestically in its opening frame July 7-9. This is initial, early tracking only.

Deadline reports that the film will likely make anywhere from $90 million to $108 million domestically in its opening frame July 7-9. That would be a huge disappointment. That's less than Spider-Man and Spider-Man 3. If MCU can't even make a Spider-Man movie that outgrosses Sony's movies from 15 and 10 years ago, then MCU should just quit making Spider-Man movies and let Sony make them instead.

It'll prolly top that ceiling, honestly. The initial estimate was $135 million OW so it's actually gone down. People have lost interest in a Spider-Man movie. But it isn't really a Spider-Man movie. It's really an Iron Man movie with a cameo by the Amazing Spider-Kid.

I wouldn't go that far, but there's definitely been a little too much emphasis on Tony Stark in the marketing for the film to my liking. That's probably more on Sony than Marvel though.

That's probably more on Sony than Marvel though. oh, i'm just being snarky. it totally makes sense to include and market him to signal this new Spidey's place. it's possible he'll be overbearing in the story, and that'd suck, but i'm giving them the benefit of the doubt so far.
