I first entered my username as two words: Cole Hambone. A bot told me this was "invalid". So I entered it without the space between first and last names but the beginning letters in caps, ColeHambone. It seemed to work: the bot told me it was "valid" and let me proceed.
Once online, the name had become colehambone!
Furthermore, I see other usernames with spaces separating first from last name, and others still with a series of names or words all joined together without spaces, but separated by use of caps.
So, what happened & how to fix it please.
-Cole

Go to -->Profile -->Edit Profile --> Personal
From there you should see "Display Name" under personal information. You can change your Display name to your choosing with spaces.

Yup - this is how to do it. I was annoyed (at first) when my name was displayed as scifive instead of SciFive, so I changed the display name just as you described.
