I don't see why they can't do the same thing in film. If the DCEU just says "screw it" to the 'grounded' route it seems to love so much, they could do great things with Superman. And Superman DOES have villains who are in his league in terms of power, other than Zod. Because they want him to be captain America, and can't get over that he's actually silver surfer.

To be fair, the best Superman stories have been morality stories with heavy themes similarly to how the 2nd and 3rd Cap films played out.

From what I've been hearing, they're waiting to see how JL performs before announcing more movies. Um we they are going through a Superman series now. The next film is in November and it is called Justice League.
