I heard the same news. Apprantly Pascal and Feige gave an interview together and Pascal said everything would connect to the MCU and gave a big smile when asked if Tom Holland's Spider-man was in those movies. Apparantly Feige made a cough like 'dont spoil that yet'.
I think that is great news. Sony finally steps in bed with Marvel completely. Now lets wait for Fox to make the threesome all fanboys are waiting for complete.
All though I do like most of the X-men movies Fox has made so it is not really a must to me.

I wouldn't bet on the X-Men showing up in the MCU anytime soon.

I wouldn't bet on the X-Men showing up in the MCU anytime soon. Neither would I. But we may end up with other Fox stuff. Maybe.
Maybe.
Maybe.

Kevin Feige had a surprised look on his face when Amy said that. I'm worry that both Amy and Sony are going to fuck it up and the deal will collapse.
Another reason to doubt Amy Pascal is the whole Ghostbusters mess.

What I mean is, it won't do anything that effects everything else going on in the larger MCU. It will push the spiderverse, but if you totally skipped it, and only watched the proper MCU, you would feel like you missed nothing. It simply takes place in the same world with some minor references.

I guess if sony and amy do that and Marvel Studios are cool with them, than i'll be fine with it.

Another reason to doubt Amy Pascal is the whole Ghostbusters mess. Come to think of it, didn't Kevin Feige mention a while back that he has no involvement in the Venom movie? Assuming the Venom movie does in fact take place in the MCU, it kind of sounds like it'll go the way of the Marvel Netflix shows, where the connection to the rest of the MCU is very loose and one-sided.

If Sony wants to do some R rated stuff with it, it's connected, but not too connected, it's totally cool. You don't have to have any real crossover with the Spidey films other than some casual references, and that way the MCU has no lilability for promoting R rated films. I love the idea.

TBH I don't know why anybody really wants or needs a lot of references in the Netflix shows. Part of the fun with them is they don't get bogged down in what else is going on with the Avengers.

Pascal looked drunk in that interview and Kevin looked completely caught off guard. If it's true fine but, she's been wrong on Spider-Man's future before. She didn't think there was going to be a new trilogy of Spider-Man films after the Homecoming deal...
Why the fuck is she still even a player in all of this after the hacks?

Why the fuck is she still even a player in all of this after the hacks? Exactly. That Ghostbusters shit show should have gotten her fired. My guess Sony doesn't want to be labeled misogynist.

Now THIS is a thread. Huge and potentially game-changing news, at the very least in terms of whether I'll open my wallet for Venom. Credit where credit's due: thanks for sharing this.

Hopefully this means Tom's contract can be extended now.

Hopefully this means Tom's contract can be extended now. Think his deal is 6 pictures right? Wasn't that for CW, IW, AVG4, and three solos?

I would hope as young as Tom Holland will be able to stick around longer than that, since he's the perfect age to take his Spider-Man through more than Maguire or Garfield ever could.
