I get being frustrated with the Knicks. I get disliking a team culture that accepts losing, and being dissatisfied with a GM who's trying to impose an archaic, outdated system on the team, regardless of whether the pieces fit. I get that the Knicks are a terrible organization with a terrible owner who is known for meddling and making disastrous moves. I get that it must be difficult playing alongside a one-way, ball-hogging player who has the worst competitive record of any "star" in the entire NBA.
But Kristaps Porzingis' agent was just quoted saying Porzingis is insulted by the way the Knicks "treat their players," which is the reason he skipped his exit meeting with the team, and the reason he hasn't been in contact with the front office or coaching staff at all since the players left for golf and vacation in April.
Porzingis has not returned calls from Jeff Hornacek either.
We're talking about a 21-year-old kid who makes an average of $6.5 million on his rookie contract, making him a wealthy man even before his first major payday contract.
When you make $6.5 million, you return your fucking boss's calls. If I was an NBA GM I'd be writing this whiny little bitch's name off my potential list of trade targets/free agent signings for this diva bullshit. As a Knicks fan, I wouldn't be sad to see him go at this point, even though I loathe the team's ownership and GM.

Here's a trade idea: Porzingis to the Celts: Knicks get: #3 pick Avery Bradley Jae Crowder Future protected 1st Celts fans - it's a lot to give up - but it frees up the SF for your signing of Gordon Hayward (and you still have Jaylen Brown who you just drafted). You'll dump Bradley in the process who is going to be looking for a huge contract (I love the guy personally)

I agree, Dennis Smith Jr. would be a nice pick, although I can't even pretend to know what crazy shit is going through Phil Jackson's head.
You really think Celts would give up this year's #3 and all those other assets for Porzingis? A soft, primarily one-way player? That's a hell of a lot to give up and there would have to be other pieces in the deal, but I suppose it's up to how the Celtics feel about Porzingis fitting in.
Still, after trading down for that 3? I dunno.

I dunno. Apparently Jackson is asking for a ransom. I don't blame him. Kids 21. Can play the 'Stretch 4' which everyone is in love with today and plays above the rim and also can step outside and pop a '3'. I love Dennis Smith Jr. I don't get the hate. I was hoping the Sixers were going to make that Kings swap - the #3 for the #5 and #10 and nab Smith Jr. somewhere along the way. Apparently he may be there around #10 or so. I actually want Porzingis on the Sixers at the 4. Crazy lineup: 1 - Simmons (yep - they're running him at the point ala The Greek Freak in Milwaukee) 2 - Fultz 3 - Covington 4 - Porzingis (Saric spots him) 5 - Embiid That is scary. If Colangelo wants to do it - he can. You just mortgage the future with our additional picks - and hey - you can throw Okafor in there too but I'm thinking you may have to throw Saric in there

This highlights the craziness of one-and-done. I look at Fultz and see the .412 percentage from 3, then the .649 percentage from the FT line, and I wonder which one is real. Teams are drafting on a sample size of 25 games. In this case they're also looking at athleticism and other factors, but still.

Fultz blossomed late. he had crap surrounded on him at Washington. same goes for Simmons at LSU. it's the 'one and done' mentality. make your coin and protect you and your family. hey - i love Dennis Smith Jr.. love fox, wouldn't mind slotting jackon or tatum in at SF. would love Monk as a sharp shooting '2' - i'm thinking Colangelo knows a little more than me posting on IMDv2 on whats good for the team. i love it. fultz, simmons, embiid........i really haven't felt this much excitement since the Birds went 3-0 with Wentz at QB- well - wait......let's not open a can of worms
