DCEU Is Set To Take Over The Superhero Film Genre
I've said this many times before. It's like World War II. The Nazis took control of Poland, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and France and the Japanese took control of much of East Asia while America hadn't entered the war yet. But after America entered the war, the Allies went on to defeat the Nazis and the Japanese.
Similarly, MCU had their run while the DCEU was still being planned. But now that the DCEU is progressing forward, the DCEU will surpass MCU and dominate the CBM genre for the next decade and more.
It reminds me of that line at the end of Tora! Tora! Tora! when a Japanese admiral says "all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant". The DCEU has been a sleeping giant, but Wonder Woman has awakened the DCEU and now the DCEU is set to take over as the dominant franchise of the CBM genre.

What kind of dumb, hilarious comparison is that!?
(Having said that, DC's most famous character is the Nazi friendly concept "Ubermensch")

Eh ? DCEU has peaked, Wonder Woman wont even beat BVS nor Dr Strange box office, me thinks you are a bit deluded , DCEU finally brings out a film that isnt rotten and you think they are going to dominate ? Marvel films are consistently good, DCEU is consistantly bad , im not sure how DCEU are going to get any where near Marvel let alone dominate

The only reason the MCU is still pumping out 3 films a year is because of the international box office. Their domestic numbers are quite weak outside of an Iron Man film.

Top 10 domestic superhero box office: 1. Avengers 2. TDK3 3. AoU 4. TDKR 5. IM3 6. CW 7. Spiderman 8. GoTG2 9. Spiderman 2 10. Deadpool DCEU doesn't even have a single entry in the top 10 domestic numbers, so I'm not sure what you're talking about.

Take over? No. But change it up maybe. Sure. But only if Justice League is successful. Money-wise, maybe it will be, but I think thats the last thing on the DCEU executives minds right now. If it's critically panned like BvS and Suicide Squad, then they really need to rethink their strategy. They've even said they were going to wait to see how Justice League does before they make any new future announcements about the DC universe. But nice though, basically calling Marvel fans Nazis. You're a real class act asshole, aren't ya?!?

They don't have to "take over" anything. There's room for more than one franchise.

Making more money outside the (smaller) domestic market is a boast? And 8 MCU films have done better domestically than the first three DCEU films (the first two being vehicles for their most popular/famous characters)

No, this situation is more like The Boxer Rebellion of 1900 in China or some other completely irrelevant historical reference.

Wow, so this is what you've been reduced to. Ignoring all the other countries where the MCU is murdering the DCEU in order to cherry-pick the numbers. I knew you were a pathetic moron, but this is a new low, even for you.

I don't know about that... One can be a fluke. Two can be a coincidence. Three insists a pattern. From my perspective, the DCEU has 3 bad films and 1 good film. Evidence seems to be in favor of a "pattern of bad" with a "fluke of good." I hope they prove me wrong.

They don't have to "take over" anything. There's room for more than one franchise. Finally, an island of sanity in a sea of chaos. Look, I'm not trying to stir anything up, but can't we all get along? Wouldn't we all come out winners if both franchises produced excellent films? There's no reason for us CBM fans to fight among ourselves about which franchise is making the most money. Really, who cares? I ain't getting a dime out of it. Both DC and Marvel have produced great, and not-so-great, films since super-hero films began. And I am talking all CBM films, not just the ones in these relatively new MCU and DCEU franchises. Anyone remember MAN-THING, ELEKTRA or FANTASTIC FOUR (any version)? I think people generally agree they were all terrible Marvel films. Then there's CATWOMAN, BATMAN AND ROBIN and STEEL. Again, most would say generally terrible DC films (though I have an unexplained soft spot for STEEL). Personally, I wish those six films had been at least good, if not great. Who won there? No one. I grew up in the 70s/80s a Marvel Zombie (with a smattering of DC), but that doesn't mean I want DC to fail. Who doesn't want a kick-ass JLA film? Seriously, I grew up thinking I would never see a live action Avengers or JLA film. Now both will be a reality in my lifetime. I'm hoping the JLA film rocks, time will tell. I'm not trying to get everyone to join hands and sing "Kumbaya", but is it necessary to be so vitriolic towards one another? Edit: I put CMB, instead of CBM (for Comic Book Movie, dontcha know) and it was bugging me, so I had to fix it.

I'm both a DC fan and a Marvel fan, but the DC side is relentlessly snobbish and relentless towards the MCU and its fans.

Edit: I put CMB, instead of CBM (for Comic Book Movie, dontcha know) and it was bugging me, so I had to fix it. The thing that DCEU fans aren't getting is that most people are saying that the DCEU needs to git gud. I've been saying that for years about the X-men films. They keep going on about sides and such (maybe because they know that most their movies aren't good), when they should be wanting their movies to be better. They are like a parent with a screw up kid and they keep praising him instead of trying to make him better. So the kid stays a screw up from that praise. That's what DC mostly sees. The people that gives them praise so they keep the movies about the same. About terrible movies in the past. You gotta think about who made them. The studio that makes the movie has more say so. So 2/3 of those Marvel movies was made by Fox. Not Marvel Studios. Man-Thing was... Lionsgate(?) and straight to DVD. All of DC movies, of maybe the past 40 years, were made by WB because WB owns them (Cannon did a couple of them). I'm more of a Marvel guy, also. But I still try to watch anything superhero. Whether it DC, Marvel or even Image. I really wanted that James Cameron Fathom movie...
