Appearing in "Lois Lane... Dead... Yet Alive" Superman#215
Summary: Lois and Superman are married and are parents to super-daughter Laney. Lois gets murdered by a super-villain. Laney gets transported to another dimension. Superman marries the Lois Lane analog and trades places with his own dimensional counterpart. Superman plans to deceive the alternate Lois as to his own origin.
Question: Is Superman a liar and a trickster? Yes, absolutely yes. Comic book images follow, I hope.

Thanks for posting that. I like the old comic stories better than today's.
Yup! He is a liar. Both of him. He should have been honest and told Lois of the other dimension, the truth and let her decide for herself. Instead he was selfish, thinking only of himself and his daughter and never considering lois' feelings. And he thinks that's love? Oh well, comic fantasy.

Instead he was selfish, thinking only of himself and his daughter and never considering lois' feelings. And he thinks that's love? Oh well, comic fantasy. Superman would periodically play cruel jokes on Lois so as to teach her some moral lesson. Here's a scene from Lois Lane #16: Yes, green beams were shooting from Lois' eyes but they were harmless colored light, not Kryptonite. Superman arranged the entire deadly eyes event. Here's Superman donning an Alfred E. Neuman rubber mask to trick Lois into thinking it's his actual face: Here's Superman as a murderer. Yes, he could forget his sacred code whenever it was convenient. That's Urko. He's a bad guy and he's a living thing! Now Urko's dead. Thanks Superman.

Superman's entire persona is a lie! He's pretending to be another person (Clark Kent) so that he can lead a separate, "ordinary" life. Think about how long he had lied to Lois Lane before she discovered his true identity.
Lois Lane: I'm confused, Kent. See, I've lived in Metropolis most of my life and I can't figure out how some yokel from Smallville is suddenly getting every hot story in town.
Clark Kent: Well, Lois, the truth is, I'm actually Superman in disguise and I only pretend to be a journalist in order to hear about disasters as they happen, and then squeeze you out of the byline.
Lois Lane: You're a sick man, Kent.
Clark Kent: You asked.

Do you know he could have smashed into any bank in the United States?
He had the strength but he would not.

Supergirl beat the crap out of him on her show. Superman has long been known as a character that places restraint upon himself and prior to Flashpoint, Supergirl was a character known for leaving it all on the field. She wouldn't hold back and knew no restraint. While the jury still seems to be out on which of the characters is stronger in the comics, one thing is for sure. Supergirl definitely beat Superman in a fight, while he was at full strength, which left the Man of Steel claiming Kara was the "champion of Earth." Comic Book DC
This might come to a shocker to some people, but Supergirl is considered by some characters in the DC Universe to be stronger than her cousin, Kal-El. Heck, even Batman told Superman this might be the case and when Batman tells you something, you believe him. But of course fans usually point out that Supergirl only appears to be stronger as she uses her powers more recklessly to the fullest than Superman, who usually most of the time holds back. It can be argued whether or not Supergirl is actually stronger than Superman, but what can't be argued is that she can dangerously give him a run for his money. MoviepilotClark Kent is kind of a basket case. Between the escape from Krypton and his tragedy-filled life on earth, Superman’s emotional resilience can’t hold a candle to his physical abilities. He’s the Man of Steel, but his mind is about as impenetrable as drywall. This is where Kara Zor-El levels the playing field. She is totally uninhibited, and she fights like a berserker. Where Clark is measured and restrained, Kara is in the kill-zone. There are arguments to be made about her upbringing: that she benefited from Krypton’s advanced training, and that her escape pod was retrofitted with yellow sun absorbers that amplified her strength well beyond her cousin’s. Superman and Supergirl apologists will have a slew of their preferred writers (and eras) to back their claims, but the vast majority of comics show Supergirl unencumbered by the mental blocks that besiege Clark Kent. Kara herself has stated that she’s stronger than her cousin, and maybe it’s that self-belief that says it all. Screenrant

Of course he's a liar. I'm hard pressed to think of a superhero that doesn't lie.

Cut poor ol' Superman some slack. After all, Superman never made any money, saving the world from Solomon Grundy!!!
