My Netflix DVD pick: NATURAL BORN KILLERS - Director Oliver Stone's stark satire of media and murder still generates controversy. Mickey and Mallory Knox (Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis, respectively) hit the road on an interstate killing spree that triggers a manhunt and garners amazing ratings for a tabloid TV star (Robert Downey Jr.). Shocking, bloody and relentlessly violent, Stone's visually frenetic film makes a chilling statement about the American cultural landscape. Cast Woody Harrelson, Juliette Lewis, Robert Downey Jr., Tommy Lee Jones, O-Lan Jones, Richard Lineback, Rodney Dangerfield, Edie McClurg, Tom Sizemore Director Oliver Stone www.imdb.com/title/tt0110632/

My favourite Oliver Stone film. Soundtrack album is one of my favourites as well. Deserved an Oscar nom for editing.

I watched the TRUE STORY on Reelz yesterday - hence why I wanted this to be my next film. The TRUE STORY was set in 1958. I read that this film pays homage to 50's Sitcoms. I wonder if that was to pay homage to the TRUE 1958 STORY.

Saw it back in the 90's but not since. Just got it for $5 in one of those bargain bins, I have a few friends and relatives who I want to introduce it to. They will need to brace themselves!

I hated it. But then again, I hate all things Quentin Tarantino. I will say Oliver Stone put on a filmmaking clinic for this movie. But it wasn't enough to save this miserable story of 2 unlikeable and unsympathetic characters.

Really dig this film. Trippy as hell at times and Woody is just great 8/10

Despite not being a Tarantino fan, I actually enjoyed this film. Maybe because Oliver Stone directed. It was very surreal and trippy and quite a lot of fun.

A good script overdirected and overstylized to the point of irritancy. Not sure Woody Harrelsen and Juliet Lewis are the right fit for Bonnie and Clyde types the media would fall in love with. You also have Tommy Lee Jones' audition tape for his horrible work in Batman Forever. RDJ and Rodney Dangerfield were good, though.

I liked it when I saw it at the theater when it came out. But not enough to ever watch it again since.
