In which direction or directions do you believe the more contemporary variety of pop music is going, from the way things seem at the moment? What does the near-future soundscape of pop music appear to be? Will we still have mainly electronic dance music oriented pop tunes as the predominant form, or will something seemingly less conventional take its place? Do you think we are due for any surprises within the next decade, or even twenty years?
I don't closely follow pop music enough to have a strong opinion on the matter. For me, it's mostly classical, film/TV soundtracks, jazz, and early rock and pop music. Despite this, I am still interested in the idea of what draws people to certain kinds of music. I even sometimes listen to modern pop, myself, especially Taylor Swift.

I can't explain why, but I predict a 1920s nostalgia wave will be around in the 2020s, and pop music may reflect this.
