Enjoy. I kind of wish PD were here to do some of his "debunking," like he did when I posted about the tomb of Osiris on the old board. I can imagine him telling me that Gilgamesh was simply an ancient king about whom an epic narrative was written, and that he had no superhuman lineage, and the fantastic things mentioned were just early man's attempt to explain the unknown, and blah blah blah. PD really seemed to have an interest in ensuring that the conventional explanation is the one that sticks to the wall.

tpfkar "Conventional explanation". You freely admit communicating with evil aliens, inside your head. I don't think I phrased it like that, but what if I did? What are you going to do about it?

What's the deal with the corpses?
The first one they show at 2:20 has open glowing eyes, or shiny jewels on the eyes, and a tasteful chest plate/decoration thingamabob
The second corpse shown at 2:30 has closed eyes, lacks the chest decoration, and has a different, more ornate crown.
Yet, the video claims that both pieces of footage are from the same excavation.
STRANGE

STRANGE Those looked like coins on the eyes, later removed along with the chest thingamabob, but.........I don't think coins were in usage then. I've seen stills of that corpse before, and I don't necessarily think it's authentic. Only heard about this recently although the video is somewhat old. If his tomb was discovered, why wasn't a bigger deal made of it? A very big deal was made over Tutankhamun, and he wasn't even a long-lasting king.

Well, I think Tut's tomb was such a big deal cause most pharoah's tombs had been raided and plundered years ago, leaving little behind. King Tut's tomb was completely pristine, with all the riches that he was buried with.
I think it's safe to say that the footage is fake...I just thought it was funny that the corpse had different appearances between the footage. Like, why would they change the crown it was wearing? Those filmmakers need to take some film 101 classes, and learn about continuity.
As for Gilgamesh...it would be hard to positively identify his tomb, I'd imagine. If it hasn't been plundered in antiquity, then it might simply be unrecognizable due to the lack of writing. Historical records suggest that the real king Gilgamesh lived ~2800 BC, which predates cuneiform writing...I think. If it predates cuneiform writing, then how the hell could you be sure that it's Gilgamesh's grave you've stumbled upon? He wasn't the only king of Uruk, and I bet they all got fancy burials.

...the flood described in the epic of Gilgamesh predated the flood in the bible...just sayin... Just sayin..........what? Just sayin the Bible copied the story from the Epic of Gilgamesh? I don't buy that. Gilgamesh was recorded earlier (by a thousand years if memory serves), but I regard them as separate accounts of the same flood.

Yeah, you don't believe it at all, but you'll back anything the ginger warrior comes out with because he defends you and your pathetic lies. Well done Molar.

...back in those days, 1,000 years between the Gilgamesh Epic and the Bible is comparing apples to oranges. What you are saying here is that the writers of the bible were plagiarists...

No, I thought you were saying that. It's what PD would say, just as he would say the story of Christ was plagiarized from Inanna's descent. Sorry if I misunderstood you.
