I just finished watching the film. It was hard to watch at times because it has some pretty graphic images of the horror of war. Seeing men being blown to pieces, losing limbs. Though it was only a film it showed what does happen in times of war and it was horrible beyond belief. Yet it also showed how good people can be in the form of Doss. I do think the film could have been made without such graphic violence being depicted, but in the end it did show how human goodness can overcome and even triumph despite everything .

Great film and it only showed a fraction of just how heroic Dross actually was. If you head over to Wikipedia and read his Medal of Honor citation it gives you a better idea of what he did to deserve it. An amazing man.
The beach landing scenes in Saving Private Ryan i thought were more graphic and i still find them hard to watch every time i decide to give it a spin but i think the film is also amazing because of them.

Yes, I looked him up; he was an amazing man. I thought the scenes of carnage in Hacksaw Ridge were worse than those shown in Saving Private Ryan, but I watched it a long time ago so maybe I've forgotten.
