The budget is about over 200 million lol. Good luck making that back . Also I can't be the only one that thinks Dane DeHaan is a little bitch right? This little twerp is like 30 years old and still looks like a teenager haha. I don't buy him as a Special Operative badass in this.
I will admit the visuals look really good , so I might see this in theaters or IMAX for that matter (high as hell of course) . But I'm not too confident in this film.

I've never been a fan of Besson and his style over substance movies. Pretty but stupid is fine for a fuck buddy but you don't have sex with a movie do you? Excluding porn of course and no one continues watching those after they have served their momentary purpose. Also cara deviwhatever is a bad actress and usually annoying. Toss in a budget of 197 euro and the fact french comic books suck and I'm skeptical this will be a success.
Wait for cable where I'm guessing it will be before the year is over.

Nothing about this screams hit and isn't Valerian supposed to be more attractive?.

Nothing about this screams hit and isn't Valerian supposed to be more attractive?. That's the most puzzling thing about this movie. He just had a box office bomb back in February and as it is, he's nothing close to a household name.

The American box office doesn't matter since this is a European film of a European property.

I'm hoping that its good--The trailers look cool---I loved Luc Besson's Lucy but liked only parts of his The Fifth Element(Chris Tucker was awful, but Ian Holm and Bruce Willis were great)---I'm hoping Valerian will be Luc Besson's big triumph

For me, wasting money on what is likely mindless garbage no matter how pretty the images are helps ensure more mindless garbage. I hope you enjoy it though.

LOL visual and content are not mutually exclusive. Seems like you are holding a grudge and I can't help you with that.

I explained exactly why I didn't think the movie would be good and since you are still unable to understand it you mistakenly say I'm holding a grudge. I can't help you with that.

Well you got to convince how you believe Léon: The Professional, the director's most famous work, is style over substance

Everything ends up on cable eventually, dude. I watched Loving this weekend. Interesting, but nothing I would pay to see in a theater. Got my tickets for Spider-Man. Seeing it at Angelika in a plush recliner with a cup of coffee. I get enough real life in my real life. I do not need to live vicariously watching someone die of cancer or whatever. I want fantasy & escapism, horizons expanded. So, yeah. Been eyeballing this one.
