This comes out next to a Nolan movie? Hmm, it might have a shot.

Everything ends up on cable eventually, dude. I watched Loving this weekend. Interesting, but nothing I would pay to see in a theater. Got my tickets for Spider-Man. Seeing it at Angelika in a plush recliner with a cup of coffee. I get enough real life in my real life. I do not need to live vicariously watching someone die of cancer or whatever. I want fantasy & escapism, horizons expanded. So, yeah. Been eyeballing this one. Awesome. I hope you have a great time at both movies. www.angelikafilmcenter.comOoo. It's playing Valerian. Maybe that's where we'll see it. And thank you. We will try our best

We will try our best If they are both playing there see them both for one price. It just takes a little planning. Although isn't the Angelika more of a foreign and artsy film venue? I saw some movies there when visiting new york that fit that description.

I saw some movies there when visiting new york that fit that description. They run both. There's an anime festival. They are playing Princess Bride apparently. We saw Rough Night there. And Colossal. They are playing PotC, GotG, The House. The Beguiled & The Big Sick so they seem to use the big stuff to balance the artsy stuff.

I'm interested in giving this a look regardless of any Pros or Cons argued and I'll judge for myself.

i liked it, they could have chose better actors but on the other hand they still worked, it felt like it could be an expansion of the 5th element universe.

Way better than critics are giving it credit for.
A major improvement on the concepts in The Fifth Element.
Visuals way better than recent Star Wars and Star Treks, especially in 3D.
The best 3D movie in recent years.
Not on the same level story- and character-wise as Star Trek or Star Wars, but combines some of the best elements of both, with some Avatar thrown in for good measure, and has a very Star Trek-/Avatar-type story.
Great opening credits sequence and accompanying song.
Fantastic score by Alexandre Desplat.
Decent performances by Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevigne.
Not at all a fan of Rihanna, but a decent dance routine (which I normally don't care for), and equally decent acting from her.
Not at all the trash that is Transformers: The Last Knight (or any of the Transformers movies for that matter), and light years ahead of Jupiter Ascending in terms of quality.
Plus, how can you not love anything with Herbie Hancock in it (not his music, but the man himself)?

Agree with most of what you said (in bold). I didn't see it in 3D (I am so over the whole 3D thing). But this was a good movie and could be the start of a very good franchise if people would just give something new a chance to get started.

I was cringing every time the guy opened his mouth.

2017 James Cameron: I'm gonna be makin— Luc Besson: DONE! Sci-fi allegory about white people taking the native people’s land and committing genocide and covering it up, amazing breathtaking visual effects and CGI to cover up the shallow story, set in outer space in the deep future on a mysterious world, pseudo-magical stuff on the planet, tons of action and adventure, massive shoot ‘em up, comic relief, clever dialogue and flirting between the male and female leads, fun but little rewatchablity. Easy pie. Geesh, this ain’t rocket science Jim! Stop pretending this stuff is “deep”!

Your comment sounds gay Kat is not fat shes busty, curvy and more Womanly than Cara. Cara looks like a drag queen. I dont want to see a female lead that looks like A man.

Yes, we're all aware of your obsession with Kat Dennings. But that is no reason to insult Cara. You may not find her attractive but a lot of people who have opinions just as valid as yours do think she is attractive. There's really no reason to hurl insults in a conversation about movie roles.

Did anyone actually see the movie? I didn't hate it and I thought it was visually and inventively amazing, but yeah the pacing was all wrong and the leads were miscast, though of the two I didn't think Delavigne embarrassed herself. She actually a moment or two where I thought "you go girl".

It's nice to see some different or at least less common faces once in awhile. Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher weren't exactly household names or even very good actors when Star Wars (1977) came out.

Did you really think "you go girl"?
