I'm so happy Wonder Woman did well critically and financially! The DCEU deserved a huge win like WW, and so did female lead superhero movies in general.
I know Suicide Squad was great financially for WB, but it was lacking in the critical acclaim. Even though I kind of dug it.
I'm more of an MCU fan, but I've always been excited for every DC film, regardless of how I felt about the previous one. There isn't a DCEU film that I've liked as a whole (until WW), but I've always thought the performances were great, and Snyder can make a visually stunning film. As far as the stories go for MoS and BvS, I've been half and half. There were a bunch of things I did like, and a bunch of things I didn't like. But the cast is always top notch!
Suicide Squad wasn't so great, but it was quite entertaining. Now Wonder Woman has hit the trifecta of critical acclaim, financial success, and amazing entertainment.
Congratulations DCEU and the fans!! I'll be impatiently waiting for Justice League and Aquaman.

I am excited as well but we have to be prudent. We're not exactly out of the woods yet.

Yes congratulations DCEU for not making another piece of shite garbage , although normal service will be resumed when Justice League and Aquaman are released, false hope.

well that's only fair, credit where credit's due.
Admittedly, this is easily the best and most milestone-y CBM (after Logan!) within the last decade or so. It's also a film of historic significance as it's the first successful female led super hero movie (direction and lead) in this notoriously misogynic genre. Lest we forget, it's the first CBM that doen't depicts the horrors of war in a totally juvenile and trivial fashion.
No wonder that according to RT it is the second best reviewed CBM so far (adjusted score), and that all this has bred legions of detractors trying to besmirch the legacy.
Let's hope this film has paved the way for others like it to come, the trenches are cleared Captain Marvel, here you come...

The film definitely exceeded expectations. I'm hoping it will catch Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 but this seems unlikely now with Spiderman:Homecoming coming out. I think you are right that this movie will pave the way for Captain Marvel and others to follow.

Yeah, I have to be honest, I'm very excited about the fact that it is a huge success for female lead and directed superhero films. Hollywood could make five failed male lead superhero films and keep making them, but when they make one and it fails they go "Welp. Female superheroes obviously don't work". Oh and their depiction of the horrors of war.. WOW! Good call on that. I love Wonder Woman, but I'm surprised it's the second best reviewed CBM, and even though I love Logan, I'm surprised it has surpassed The Dark Knight! But either way it's great news that we seem to be raising the bar of CBMs in just this year alone. What a great time for comic fans!! Wonder Woman is already in my top 10 best comic book movies. Even though my order changes sometimes, I think it will remain there along with TDK, Batman Begins, Iron Man, The Winter Soldier, Spider-Man 2 and Scott Pilgrim. All of which I don't think will ever leave my top 10.

I guess we will have to wait and see how much WW makes the weekend after SM:H comes out.
