Close for me, since all 3 songs I liked in Neil's career were fairly early (Cherry Cherry, You Got to Me, Solitary Man) and the rest of his career was lounge-singer hell. And writing a love song to 11 year old Caroline Kennedy was ew.
But McClean just had American Pie and Vincent. I actually bought an album of his, whereas for ND, I only bought the 45 of YGTM.

Used to be a fan of McLean. There was a part in Vincent that brought me to tears each time. A great tribute for my favorite painter. Then I find out that he is a wife beater and had been for years! Forget that prick. I can never listen to him again. So I voted for Diamond even though I'm not a fan. Please don't let us find out that he is worse in his personal life.

I voted for Don McLean, but only because of "Vincent". I'm not really a fan of either.

Neil Diamond - He has a more extensive body of work. I love American Pie, but that's the only song of McLean's I know.
