I know it can be tradition for a Sister to wear a Habit and crucifix. But I don't believe it's a requirement to wear them today. I'm Roman Catholic and the sisters in Parishes I've attended the past 20 or 30 years very rarely wear them.

I know it can be tradition for a Sister to wear a Habit and crucifix. But I've never heard of it being a requirement to wear them today. Yeah, it's not like they're supposed to wear them while showering or sleeping. I'm somewhat split on this, I don't have an issue with her wearing the veil as long as it's checked for notes or an ear piece. But is keeping a hat on really worth throwing away your career? Just bite the bullet and take it off.

She should have said it was a turbin.

Yeah, I don't think you can pass by dressing as a nun.

kis
Wearing a habit is purely dependent upon the charism of that order. It is rarely optional like it can be with a priest.

I thought this thread was going to be about the medical profession discriminating against someone based on the fact they were sick for years... to the point a family member had to post for them online to maintain their important presence on an anonymous message board.

Many years ago when calculators were getting smaller and yet getting huge data and program storage I took a test on physics where students were allowed to use them during the test. It really wasn't possible to cheat on that particular kind of test though. Even if you stored the formula for final velocity after uniform acceleration the word problems were so tricky that it was not simply the formula but the correct application of it through a mess of details that was the test. You might have heard of "open book" tests.
I doubt anyone could hide notes for cheating on an exam in a crucifix that couldn't be hidden by anyone else in their clothing. Are they checking everyone's underwear for notes? I've never seen that anywhere before.

It is just a case of discrimination.

'Look at me, I'm religious'.

must suck for a lack of benefits and silence. Your utterance might be more intelligible if you added one or both of a subject and object.

Was anyone else expecting the body of the post to be something like...
"... couldn't take it from her sick bed."?

What was she doing wearing a veil? Is she planning on practising medicine while wearing one? Always good for a patient when you can't see your doctors face.

If they allow nun uniforms, soon we'll have doctors like this.

I used to work at a testing center. Veils and crucifixes were okay, so long as the veil was checked for hidden notes, and the crucifix was visible at all times. Seems like the rules are a little harsher in India or wherever the fuck she's from.
