I'm tired of seeing so many classic film threads on the Film General Board, so I'm co-opting them. Feel free to participate here if you've already participated there. I keep hoping some of those starting these classic film threads on FG will find their way over here. Anyway, my favorite Grace Kelly films are:
Rear Window The Country Girl High Society (I love her singing "True Love" with Bing Crosby) Dial M for Murder

My favorite Grace Kelly performance is in HIGH NOON, even though it's not one of my favorite movies. She was better at eliminating the villains than was Gary Cooper!

spiderwort Apologies, for I suppose I was one of those people propagating this thread on the "general" board, but I did so out of a fondness for the films cited... Anyhoo, here's what I wrote there:

For me...
Rear Window High Society High Noon
She only appeared in 11 feature films before becoming a Princess. Pretty well remembered for such a short career.
Btw, the FG's usually won't come to the CFB, historically, it "just isn't done".

spiderwortProbably fine to borrow ... ok, swipe ... from FG. Since they don't read here, they most likely won't even notice and if they do you can always say that you asked and that besides, imitation is the finest form of flattery ! Neighborhood dwellers tend to stick to their own neighborhoods even if invited to come for a visit. As for it being slow : summertime and the livin' outdoors is easy ! (in the Northern Hemisphere anyway)
OT ? me ? OK. Grace Kelly was a very pretty lady !

spiderwort Then again, I've had a crush on Grace ever since I first saw her (in Dial M, in case anyone's wondering), so there's that, I suppose... You, too, Salzmank?!
My favorite Grace Kelly films:
Rear Window Dial M for Murder To Catch a Thief (might as well say the three films she made with Hitchcock, especially Rear Window) The Country Girl (there was just no way of making this beautiful woman look dowdy even when they tried to make her look dowdy. And what a wonderfully nuanced and poignant performance she gave) High Society - I agree that the movie is fluff, but she is so watchable in it!

spiderwortBorrow/swipe was, of course, in jest. I understand what you have in mind for transporting topics from FG to theCFB. I know how incredibly hard it is to come up with new ideas that will generate peaceful discussions. Can understand your frustration ! Your valiant efforts to keep the board up and running are appreciated. One thing about the new board is that we no longer have to be on constant vigilance against trolls and assorted pains in the butt. (Occasional curmudgeons excepted ) Slower here compared to the "olden IMDb" ? yes! Fewer members in general. Trolls eliminated. Problem posters wandered off to other climes. No fights and feud clutter. IMO, all to the good even tho' the crickets seem to chirp pretty loudly here on occasion.

Fourteen Hours (1951) High Noon (1952) Mogambo (1953) more for Ava Gardner & Clark Gable than Grace Kelly Dial M for Murder (1954) Rear Window (1954) The Bridges at Toko-Ri (1954) To Catch a Thief (1955)

gunshotwound I tend to forget about Mogambo, which I liked her in a lot - she, Gable, and Gardner were a fine combo (though Gable looked old enough to be her father, but so did Cooper in High Noon - that was the way back in the day). And Fourteen Hours was a taut Henry Hathaway thriller. Haven't thought of that one in years. Would like to see it again. Spider, Kelly was good in Mogambo but I will take Ava Gardner over her any day. I like Gardner's down-to-earth personality. I don't really care for Kelly's hoity-toity attitude very much but I can deal with her.

When Frank Sinatra had a televised concert from London in the early 1970s it was intruduced by Grace Kelly, where she said among other things, that she always liked to tease Frank, because she had a number 1 song on the hit parades before him. True Love offcourse. High Noon 1952 Dial M for Murder 1954, Own it Rear Window 1954, Own it The Bridges at Toko-Ri 1954, though a rather thankless role in a good war movie. Own it The Country Girl 1954 To Catch a Thief 1955 Own it. I wonder how much Hitchcock regretted filming it on the French Riviera, if she hadn't met Prince Rainier he wouldn't have lost his cool blonde. High Society 1956, mostly for the music and the star power, and I still have the old vinyl sountrack that I listens to from time to time. I also own Mogambo 1953, but haven't got around seeing it yet. Own it = I personally own it on DVD. A comment why there are Classics in FG, I've thought about that too but never said anything, thinking something like that it's nice the "youngsters" are interested in older movies too. If they are afraid that why are some snobbish movie fans that have seen every movie that's ever been made and likes to flash off our knowledge on them they couldn't be more wrong. Each of us who are here regulary know a little bit of many things and we share in a friendly way what we know and also what we personally thinks about certain movies, stars, directors and other subjects, without becoming sworn enemies. That's how I see it. There was a book a few years ago called "1001 Movies you have to see before you die", and I thought, as long as I haven't seen them all I won't die in a long time.

I've only seen her three Hitchcock movies, Rear Window, Dial M For Murder and To Catch a Thief until last week when I finally saw High Noon. Rear Window is my favorite. There are little "graceful" touches all around Monte Carlo if you keep your eyes open, I was there in 2003. I noticed a dance academy named for her. It really is a ritzy kingdom, and tiny!

I can't say I've ever been impressed with Grace Kelly's acting, but the movie I enjoyed the most was probably Rear Window. Her performance wasn't that bad either.
