Well with the iconic Wonder Woman exceeding all expectations with $103 mil opening weekend, it looks like despite all odds, the 2nd reboot Homecoming is going to fly past that mark with an easy $120 mil. The numbers keep rising, and could pass $125 or even better by the end of it. Now WW has held incredibly strong, so it'll be interesting to see how Spidey holds up in the long run, but the reviews are even better than they were for Wonder Woman and those first weekend numbers are at least 16.5% better than her performance. It could get to 21% or even bigger, which is substantial.
Opening Friday results mirror the Thursday results where Spiderman beat Wonder Woman by 40%, $15.4 mil to 11. As a total Friday, Spidey killed it with $50.5 compared to DC's third biggest star who earned a very respectable $38. That is a 32% increase over a breakout film for DC that's just one month old.
Now I mentioned ratings, and those have been very close, but so far the new Spiderman film has a slight advantage in three separate categories, including the fan likes 92-91, the critic score 7.7-7.5, and the overall up or down vote 94-92, all measured on RT.
So far, for a film that had a lot of questions to answer regarding Sony and Marvel's relationships and it's future, the film has been a roaring success, surpassing, at least for now, the heights of a breakout film like Wonder Woman.

GOTG2 would have been much higher than 6 mil ahead. Spidey appears to be nearing 125 it looks like, they still haven't released weekend projections, but it definitely passed WW pretty easily.

Friday WW- $38,247,254 GotG2- $56,078,520 SMH - Est. $50,500,000 Granted, I haven't seen Saturday stats yet & SMH will be an estimate until mid-Monday Although a really good Saturday could close the gap. Saturday- WW - $35,253,398 GotG2 - $51,304,539 Sunday - WW - $29,750,819 GotG2 - $39,127,045 If SMH made more than those amounts over Saturday & Sunday it can cut that lead GotG2 had on Friday.

Oh my bad, I thought you meant 6 mil short for the whole weekend.
