"Well, let me tell you something, Bobster. You don't know the first fucking thing about power. I have more power in this hand than all you fucking know!"The usually kind spirited family man Graham Marshall (Michael Caine) has always seemed like a fine example of an steady and well trusted employee, who has been dedicated most of his life by working at an very successful corporation, located in the heart of the Big Apple, for many years now. Admired by his co-workers for his strong efforts and loyalty, he is wished good luck upon the possibility of finally getting that big promotion, but to Graham's surprise, that chance is killed off the very moment when the corporations biggest slimeball is offered it instead of him. This causes something of an inner revelation for poor Graham, who decides to kill off his Mr. nice guy persona, and start to even the odds in his favor, as one man's loss is another man's gain.A great little black comedy/thriller gem starring Michael Caine, Elizabeth McGovern, Will Patton, Peter Riegert and Jenny Wright. stefancrosscoeI haven't seen the movie, but I have read Simon Brett's book on which it was based. Good?

Never read the book, but the film is really good. I bought it along with a 4 movie pack that featured also 3 terrible, terrible b-movie titles, so when I went in and saw A Shock to the System, I was not expecting much, but it turned out to be a very pleasant surprise.
Thanks for the heads up, heysweden. I wonder if this new blu-ray release will come with some neaty new special bonus material.
