No, it's not taking away their freedom of choice. No, it's a choice between being accountable for the deaths and destruction that they cause or retiring and walking away. There is no house arrest. The government isn't putting ankle bracelets on them and forcing them to stay at home. If they choose retire, they're free to walk away and go anywhere they want. It is about taking away their freedom of choice, actually. As for Death and Destruction, that's caused by the villains they fight. If the Avengers did nothing more people would be dead. If Superman and Batman were in Cap's place, they'd have defied the UN too. We're still arguing about this? God, DC-Fan is nothing is not persistently stupid. I love how people act like today's governments can in any way, shape, or form be trusted when they've constantly done things that prove otherwise.

It is about taking away their freedom of choice, actually. Nope, they still have the choice - stay with the team or retire. Just like I have the choice - fly from SF to LA or drive from SF to LA. Nobody is forcing me to choose fly or drive - it's my choice. Likewise, nobody is forcing the Avengers to choose stay or retire - it's their choice. It's no different that the "cure" in X-Men: The Last Stand. Rogue chose to get injected with the "cure"; the other X-Men chose not to. If the Avengers did nothing more people would be dead. Not true. 1st, if the Avengers did nothing, we know for sure that the people in the building who died when Scarlet Witch lifted the bomb and set it off to blow out the side of the building wouldn't have died. 2nd, Crossbones released the bomb in a crowded market because he was trapped. If the Avengers hadn't chased him through a crowded market, then maybe he doesn't release the bomb in a crowded market. So your statement that "If the Avengers did nothing more people would be dead" is FALSE. If the Avengers did nothing, it's more likely that less people would be dead. The stupidity is astounding with you. That's like saying a police officer should just let a criminal get away of they're chasing them. But that's the whole point of Scarlett Witch character. She's meant to be inexperienced like that. I guess you think if the Avengers didnt save New York from the Chitauri, that they would have just left and no one would have died

The cops wouldn't be so reckless to endanger innocent lives.
For example, the FBI knew Dillinger was in that theater in Chicago. But instead of just recklessly storming into the theater and possibly getting into a shootout with Dillinger in a crowded theater where innocent people could be killed, they waited until the show was over and Dillinger came out of the theater before they surrounded him.
The Avengers were reckless and that led to a chase through a crowded market, which resulted in Crossbones releasing the bomb that Scarlett Witch lifted into the air and blew out the side of the building. Had the Avengers not been so reckless, then most likely less people would've died and certainly the people in the building that the bomb Scarlet Witch lifted into the air and blew out the side of wouldn't have died.

No one was particularly wreckless. Scarlett Witch was just inexperienced, which was just the whole point of her character, which drives the whole story because of the wrecklessness. But it's also character flaws as well and creates struggle and conflict with the characters.

He wants the heroes to all be perfect people with few to no flaws and the villains drive everything, the lazy way of comic writing (writing in general).
