Indiana Jones, Die Hard and the Bourne movies all should have stopped after the original trilogies. In fact they did stop, only to be resurrected for cash grabs many years later. The Dark Knight deserved a better final chapter; a third film was necessary but TDKR was total garbage that shat on the previous two films. So in that regard I wish they had stopped after TDK. Except that Live Free or Die Hard was aight. Fifth was just colossal failure at the scriptwriting stage. My candidate is Police Academy. Should have stopped after the fourth movie. The rest are so bad that I think that's pretty much obvious.

Star Wars. After the franchise was ruined with The Farce Remakens they should have apologized and cancelled all upcoming sequels.

I think The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit Trilogy were fine. I would have preferred a 4 hour one off prequel (like the book) but it wasn't bad. Harry Potter as well. Well yes Lord of the Rings where fine. The hobbit should have been one movie at least in my opinion. Don't be stupid. Why the hell would you only want one Hobbit movie?

Halloween - H20 The Godfather - Part II (I don't get the "trilogies don't count" rule so I listed this anyway) Terminator - T2
^Putting aside the fact that the follow-ups were garbage, these films had perfect endings. I'm expecting Toy Story to join the list next.
