I've always really liked this painting. It's in the Kelvingrove Gallery in Glasgow which is very close to the University where I studied and I used to frequently go to gallery to look at the art work there...

OP, did I win this competition?
Ps this is just like Take Hart or Vision On (I forgot to put my age on my entry, it is 49 and 5/6th)
Pps I think I should win, as everyone else entered drawings that are not their own... fecking cheats!

I've always really liked this painting. It's in the Kelvingrove Gallery in Glasgow which is very close to the University where I studied and I used to frequently go to gallery to look at the art work there... It is a dramatic painting and well done, but I've seen more than enough paintings in the Italian High Renaissance art history classes I took in college that depict torture at the hands of christians. People pierced by arrows, people being burned at the stake, flayed alive... but I digress.
In fact, having been a former illustrator myself, that is the only good thing I see about religion - it has supported starving artists for a long time. I now look at different art; wildlife, botanicals, landscapes and seascapes; the things I want to see preserved. I just wish those artists had a patron as strong as the Catholic Church.
