I love it. And I love the movie. I don't necessarily think it's formula is different from any other CBM...but it's just that SHE is different and I think the public just wanted someone different in that role of "hero" and she is just the person everyone wanted to see.

It's legs have been nothing short of incredible. That's for sure.

Gal is a keeper with those legs, that has become a pop-history fact already!
Very sadistic move to rob DC fan of the triumphant bliss of posting this by posting it first btw, not saying it aint tactically smart though.

Ok I'm confused. I loved Wonder Woman but I'm pretty sure The Avengers came out only 5 years ago. So how then are they saying that WW has the best hold among superhero movies for the last 15 years?

^ As far as I know, the Avengers has had the best legs out of any superhero movie. Just that it wasn't released in summer... at least not in North America.

Isn't this affected by a movie's budget? Where do you find these numbers? I'm just basing this on the weekly totals off Boxofficemojo. WW's week #5 total is $28,121,716 whereas the Avengers week #5 total is $28,586,745.

For example, the first Avengers movie made about $207 million on opening weekend in North America, and finished its domestic gross at about $623 million. By contrast, WW made about $103 million on opening weekend, and looks like it'll finish its domestic gross with over $390 million. To be more clear, you can check out the multipliers for these two movies here: www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=avengers11.htmwww.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=wonderwoman.htm

2nd weekend drop: The Avengers -50.3%, Wonder Woman -43.3% 3rd weekend drop: The Avengers -46.0%, Wonder Woman -29.5% 4th weekend drop: The Avengers -34.1%, Wonder Woman -39.6% 5th weekend drop: The Avengers -44.2%, Wonder Woman -36.9% 6th weekend drop: The Avengers -45.1%, Wonder Woman -37.5%
Except for the 4th weekend (which was Memorial Day weekend for The Avengers), The Avengers has dropped by at least 7% more than Wonder Woman each corresponding weekend.

Yep, the article says Wonder Woman currently has a 3.6 multiplier, higher than Spider-Man, GotG, and even TDK.

umm the audience just thirsty for a decent female cbm adaptation. Wonder Woman being the most iconic female superhero certainly helped it, not shocking

Except for the 4th weekend (which was Memorial Day weekend for The Avengers), The Avengers has dropped by at least 7% more than Wonder Woman each corresponding weekend.
A lot of Marvel films have larger drops because they usually have bigger openings, with pretty respectable weeks following The percentage drop may have been generally smaller than Avengers each week, but not the money it made/number of people that saw it. It dropped more weekly, but still performed better each week. Week 1: The Avengers $270m Wonder Woman $147.8M Week 2: The Avengers $132m Wonder Woman $86m Week 3: The Avengers $74.6m Wonder Woman $59.3m Week 4: The Avengers $55.7m Wonder Woman $37.3m Week 5: The Avengers $28.5m Wonder Woman $28.1m Week 6: The Avengers $16.8 Wonder Woman $15.1 I know which "legs" most studios would prefer.
