Made more on open weekend and has made more in the first week, dceu fans salty Doesn't look like SMH will give Wonder Woman much of a challenge. SMH is exected to take in $47.5M this weekend. That's a 59.5% drop from opening weekend (compared to Wonder Woman's 43.4% drop the 2nd weekend). After this weekend, SMH is still ahead of Wonder Woman but the gap has narrowed to $164.5M for SMH and $161.8M for Wonder Woman.
After 3 weekends, Wonder Woman had $203M. That means if SMH has a 3rd weekend drop of more than 20% (which is highly likely given that Dunkirk is coming out next weekend and War for the Planet of the Apes will be in its 2nd weekend), then SMH will have fallen behind the pace of Wonder Woman after just 3 weekends. So by the end of the summer, Wonder Woman will have beaten SMH.

SHM will win out in the end, it didn't have any of WW's artificial boosters but it didn't need them to begin with.

I'm really just messing with DC-Fan, but WW had a few things going for it that gave it a boost: 1) It's the first Wonder Woman movie ever as opposed to Homecoming being Spidey's 6th. 2) WW being decent (not great) after the slop DCEU's been churning out before makes it look better than it is. It isn't some masterpiece.

I can give the second one to ya though. Suicide Squad alone made me want to join the DCEU Hatred Train (I'm only kidding). I liked BvS and MoS, but I understand that no one else does.

It's early days, and only in respect of Domestic Box Office. Worldwide I think SMH may well come out on top.
Both have still got to open in Japan - though no DCEU film has made more than $16m there, whereas Spider-Man seems to be a popular character there - no SM movie has made less than $30m.
Also unlike WW, SMH has yet to open in China.

Also, it has more extreme competition than WW had (Dunkirk, Planet of the Apes) and Spidey is more overexposed than WW.

I also think it might be suffering from "Spiderman Reboot Fatigue" Particularly in relation to the average casual moviegoer...you know, the ones who had no idea why Superman and Batman would ever be fighting.

Yeah, that's what I meant my overexposed.

Yeah, that's what I meant my overexposed. Ah...thought you meant the film, not the character... I have to admit, I'll see it, and I love superhero movies, but this is one where I am decidedly not rushing to see it.

In terms of legs, WW certainly has the advantage of being the first movie to star the character. The repeat viewings for Spider-Man: Homecoming were most likely hurt from it being yet another reboot for the character in such a short amount of time.
